Happy Tuesday!
We would like to say,” Welcome aboard
to the new CEO of the Port of Corpus Christi, Mr. Kent Britton!”
Did anyone hear
that the Port of Corpus Christi announced today that they have decided to make
their interim CEO a permanent full-time CEO to take effect immediately? The Port of Corpus Christi Commissioners in a
special session voted and named Kent Britton their permanent CEO, after an
extensive search across the U.S. Mr. Britton
has been an important part of the team for the last six years as Chief Financial
Officer. The past team helped bring the Corpus Christi Channel Improvement Project (CIP) which is dredging the thirty-six-mile
channel from -47-feet Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW) to -54-feet MLLW and widening
it to 530-feet, so the new larger vessels may come to port. They will be adding and constructing 400-feet
of barge shelves, so two-way traffic will be on the channel. Mr.
Britton has thirty years in the accounting and finance world in industry and
non-profits and was a welcome addition to the Port in 2019. Mr.
Britton’s leadership style will be a good fit for the Port of Corpus Christi,
and he has a reputation for building bridges to get things done. If you would like to read more of the Port of
