US BLM has posted a Notice for oil and gas lease sale in California for last month of the year.

Happy Tuesday!

You know we try and keep up with the oil and gas lease sales around North America in and out of the water.   Well, we haven’t heard of an oil and gas lease sale in California in a long time.  Well, it looks like that draught is about to end.  Let’s dig in.

Did anyone happen to read the Oil & Gas Journal’s OGJ Daily Update Newsletter on October 5, 2026, their article titled, “US BLM sets December California oil, gas lease sale”?   The article goes on to speak on how the U.S. Department of Interior’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) last week announced a notice for its first oil and gas lease sale in California in over five years.  The California oil and gas lease is smaller than the proposed one back in July, this one only will have over 40 parcels covering around 35,000 acres and the acreage is located in several counties including Kern, Kings, Fresno, and San Luis Obispo.  As of the publishing of the notice the public has 30-days to add their comments on the sale; BLM National NEPA Register | DOI-BLM-CA-C060-2026-0090-EA Project Home.  See attached for information on the Notice for California Lease Sale; Notice of Competitive Oil and Gas Lease Sale.  We will let you know, if we hear anything else from US BLM on this or any other sales.  If you would like to read more of the Oil & Gas Journal’s article, please click the link:   US BLM sets December California oil, gas lease sale | Oil & Gas Journal.
