Happy Monday!
We love
keeping up with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve
(SPR) and what’s happening like the RFP which will be close on October 6, see
out Blog last week for details. Well, we
heard of another group of countries petroleum reserves and what they are doing. Let’s dig in.
Did anyone
happen to read the gCaptain Daily Newsletter on October 3, 2026, they
reprinted an article from Bloomberg titled, “G7 to Release Up to 100 Million
Barrel of Diesel, Crude”? The
article goes on to speak on the Group of Seven (G7) nations, and its allies will
be finally releasing up to 100 million barrels of oil and diesel reserves over
the next few months. When the Iran war
began the countries with reserves were asked to release 400 million barrels to
help stabilize the markets, and while the U.S. has made up to 172 million
barrels available for exchange since then; G7 has been slow making their assets
available. The change of heart is due to
the pressure coming from the U.S. The International
Energy Agency will be assisting G7 with making the reserves available. We will
let you know, if we hear anything else on G7 or any other reserves
coming to market. If you would like to
