A BLM Onshore oil and gas lease sale leased less this quarter than last quarter in Colorado.

Happy Monday!

We always like to keep up with the happenings of the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) they recently had an oil and gas lease sale for federal lands in the continental U.S.  Let’s dig in.

Did anyone happen to read the Oil & Gas Journal’s OGJ Daily Update Newsletter on September 14, 2026, their article titled, “BLM Wyoming lease sale generates $82 million, Colorado’s sale fetches $4.7 million”?   The article goes on to speak on how the U.S. Department of Interior’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) recently had their quarterly federal land oil and gas lease sale for Wyoming and Colorado.  The lease sale generated over $82 million for Wyoming and less than $5 million for Colorado.  The Wyoming sale leased almost 115,000 acres mostly in two counties: Converse and Campbell.  While the Colorado sale leased less than 15,000 acres, which was way less than the sale in June where they leased almost 135,000 acres.  As with offshore oil and gas leases the current royalty is 12.5%.  We will let you know, if we hear anything else from the U.S. BLM.  If you would like to read more of the Oil & Gas Journal’s article, please click the link BLM Wyoming lease sale generates $82 million, Colorado’s sale fetches $4.7 million | Oil & Gas Journal.
