Galveston Bay's first LNG Bunker Terminal for alternative marine fuel has another of duck in a row.

Happy Wednesday!

We have a follow-up to an article we blogged on back in May 2025, on GLBP the company proposing to build a LNG bunkering terminal on the shores of Galveston Bay; check it out our Blog for details.   GLBP is in the news for a new deal.

Did anyone happen to read the gCaptain Daily Newsletter on January 28, 2026, their article titled, “Gulf Coast Emerges as U.S. Hub for LNG Marine Fuel With TOTE-Galveston Deal”?  In the article, it speaks about Galveston LNG Bunker Port, LLC (GLBP) a joint venture has signed a Heads of Agreement recently with TOTE Services which creates a plan for American built LNG bunker vessels which include design, as well as building, financing and an agreement for chartering them for the facility with the first vessel as early as later this year.  GLBP is a following the requirements of the Jones Act with American hands being involved on all steps of vessels used on being used at American ports, and this agreement brings them one step closer to reality.  GLBP has received all their final permits from various local, state, and federal agencies, and they have selected their EPC contractors and are slowly advancing their final investment decision which is expected later this year.  We wish them luck on them making their FID!  If you would like to read more of the gCaptain’s article, please click the link:   Gulf Coast Emerges as U.S. Hub for LNG Marine Fuel With TOTE–Galveston Deal.
