Happy Tuesday!
We said we
would let you know if we hear anything in regard to Enbridge’s Line 5; see our
previous blogs on this important connection to Canada. Well, their back in the news with some good
news.
Did anyone see
The Houston Chronicle’s Business Section on October 30, 2025, they
reprinted an article from the Associated Press titled, “Plan to encase
Great Lakes oil pipeline OK’d”? In the
article, it speaks on how the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) last week
gave Enbridge’s Line 5 a green flag. The
approval was in spite of their own research and environmental analysis showing
the tunnel project’s construction may be a problem with natural habitat in the
area. The permitting process was sped up
by the current administration in its goal of attaining energy dominance. USACE’s permit shows the Line 5 tunnel project
conformed to all federal regulatory codes and standards. Enbridge’s Line 5 only has one more permit to
attain, and we wish them luck. We will try
and keep you informed on anything else we hear on this important pipeline. If you would like to read more of Associated
Press’ article for free on msn, please click the link: US Army Corps of Engineers approves Enbridge plan to encase aging Great Lakes oilpipeline.
