Happy Monday! Welcome back to another week of ESC News Blog!
Back in May we spoke in our Blog on
how the U.S. Department of Interior’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) was
instructed to reduce the amount of time they had to review future oil and gas
lease sales to six months from the previous eight to fifteen months and this
was to include the public comment period.
Well, the BLM must have gotten to work because a lease sale has
been published.
Did
anyone happen to read the Oil & Gas Journal’s Daily Update Newsletter on
October 13, 2025, their article titled, “US BLM to offer 60 Colorado parcels in
December lease sale”? In the article, it
speaks on how the U.S. Department of Interior’s Bureau of Land Management
(BLM) has a quarterly sale on the books for Colorado in December as designated
by the Mineral Leasing Act. Last week,
the BLM published they will be having an oil and gas lease sale in Colorado on December 9, 2025, for sixty parcels a total
of almost 51, 000 acres. The BLM’s
new administration was at work in the early spring looking for locations in Colorado
and they located the areas they wanted and then opened a public comment period
which ended in July. Now they have
published the December date a 30-day public protest period has opened which will end November 10, 2025, if you would
like to make a comment. If you would
