Venture Global has plans to expand and develop more of their LNG facilities!

Happy Monday!  Welcome back to another week of ESC News Blog!

We hope everyone had a little fun and relaxation time over the weekend!  Let’s get started!

You know we love a follow-up, and we blogged on Venture Global LNG Inc. earlier in August on how they have received approval from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to export an additional 200 billion cubic feet of LNG to Non-FTA countries from their Calcasieu Pass LNG Plant.

Did anyone happen to read the gCaptain Shipping Newsletter on August 18, 2025, the have a reprinted article for Reuters titled, “Venture Global Eyes More After Shell Arbitration Victory”?  In the article, it spoke on how after Venture Global’s favorable outcome to legal proceedings have made them hopeful several other cases against them will have the same positive outcome.  In the article, it’s noted that Venture Global expects to expand their capacity in the next few years, positioning them to become the leading LNG exporter in the country, with plans to deliver more than 100 million metric tons of LNG by the end of the decade.  In Venture Global’s future strategy involves them continuing building the next phase of their CP2 facility in Louisiana, whose project costs have increased due to outside influences including tariffs, price increases from supply and wage expenses, as well as other circumstances; now the project may cost upward to $29 billion.  In addition, they are expected to construct a 10 mtpa CP3 facility.   Venture Global intends to have a Phase 2 added to their Plaquemines facility in Louisiana in the future, too.  Venture Global is getting American LNG out to the world and their expansion will help get even more!  We wish them continued luck and success with their expansion!  If you would like to read more of the gCaptain’s article, please click the link:   Venture Global Eyes More Wins After Shell Arbitration Victory.
