Happy Wednesday!
Did anyone happen to read The
Houston Chronicle’s The 713 Morning Newsletter on August 5, 2025, their
article titled, “Houston to get new NRG Energy gas power plant with $216M Texas
Energy Fund loan”? In the article, it goes
on to speak on how yesterday it was announced the Houston area will be adding
power to its grid from a new NRG Energy Inc.’s natural gas power plant being
constructed at their TH Wharton Generating Station complex with help from the
Texas Energy Fund. The Texas Energy Fund
has approved advancing NRG Energy up to $216 million at 3% interest to be paid
back within twenty years. NRG Energy is awaiting
to hear if two more of its applications for loans from the Texas Energy Fund for
their Cedar Bayou and Green Bayou power plants will be approved, if we hear anything
on them, we will pass it along. We wish
NRG Energy luck with their other Texas Energy Fund applications and getting these
power plants online! If you would like
