Happy Monday! Welcome back to another week of ESC News Blog!
We love a follow-up and well this
fits the bill. We blogged approximately a
year ago on Glenfarne’s Texas LNG losing their FERC certification, when
a federal appellate court decided the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was
incomplete into the effects of the LNG plant will have on the communities
surrounding it in regard to pollution and the quality of life. Then, last September we blogged FERC saying
the final supplemental report would take 14 to 15 months. Well, we finally have the final report.
Did anyone
happen to read Storage Terminals Magazine’s Weekly Newsletter on August
11, 2025, their article titled, “Glenfarne’s Texas LNG advances with
FERC final supplemental environmental report”? In the
article, it speaks on how the U.S. Federal Regulatory Commission (FERC) published
its final supplemental environmental impact statement (EIS) for Texas LNG,
who is being built at the Port of Brownsville.
Glenfarne’s Texas LNG is one step closer to attaining their FERC
certificate which is expected to be delivered in November. Glenfarne’s Texas LNG will be one of
the greenest LNG facilities due to it will be using electric motor drives to run
the site. Glenfarne is expecting to a make
final investment decision later this year for Texas LNG. Glenfarne’s Texas LNG have decided on
Kiewit as its contractor to go from design to completion of the project. If we hear anything else on Texas LNG on
its permits and certifications, we will let you know! We wish Glenfarne luck getting their ducks in
a row! If you would like to read more of
