Happy Tuesday!
Did anyone happen to read The
Houston Chronicle’s Fuel Fix Newsletter on August 11, 2025, they
republished an article from Midland Reporter-Telegram titled, “Enterprise
buys Oxy’s Midland Basin gas assets, plan new plant”? In the article, it speaks on how a subsidiary
of Enterprise Products Partners L.P. (EPD) picked up natural gas gathering assets
from a subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum’s (Oxy) in the Midland Basin for $580
million cash only deal, and included in the deal they will be providing long-term
natural gas gathering and processing services to Oxy. In addition, Enterprise will be getting around
200 miles of natural gas gathering pipeline which moves unprocessed natural gas
from production in the Midland Basin to a natural gas gathering facility. In addition, they will be getting around
73,000 acres which extends into four counties in the Midland Basin. We wish them luck acquiring speedy approvals
for their purchase!
In the same article, Enterprise published
they will build another natural gas processing plant which they plan to name
Athena in Midland County; it will be there ninth in the area. The Athena facility in expected to be able
to process up to 300 million cubic feet of natural gas a day and separate out around
40,000 barrels a day of natural gas liquids (NGL). The plant is expected to be commissioned by end
of 2026. The purchase from Oxy and the plans
to build the Athena facility fall in line with Enterprise’s capex goals for this
year and next. We wish them luck getting
the new plant in service! If you would
