Did anyone happen to read Chron. THIRDCOAST Newsletter on January 2, 2025, their article titled, “This controversial Texas warship can’t stay out of the headlines”?  In the article, it goes on the speak about the timeline since Battleship Texas’ departure from the State Park near the San Jacinto Monument to the shipyard for its repairs and renovations thru December as well as progress the Galveston Wharves has made finding a home.  In early November, the Galveston Wharves Board selected a three-member committee to help locate a permanent home for the battleship.  In early December, the special committee held its initial meeting and says they have located three possible homes for the battleship: two by Pier 20 and one by Pier 15, and they would have more information at their January 14th meeting.   The public have been chiming in on their opinions of the possible locations, nonetheless this American Treasure deserves a place where we all may pay our respects to her, and future Americans may be able to see her and her grandness.  We wish them much luck finding their new forever home!  We will keep you posted, if any permanent home is located and a deal is inked.  If you would like to read more of the Chron.
