Another North Slope area has produced oil for the newly developed well for ConocoPhillips Alaska!

Happy Monday!  Welcome back to another week of ESC News Blog!

We love a follow-up, even if it isn’t the normal saga of ConocoPhillips' Willow Project nonetheless it is part of the North Slope in Alaska where ConocoPhillips Alaska has been developing.

Did anyone happen to read the Oil & Gas Journal’s Daily Update Newsletter on December 20, 2024, their article titled, “ConocoPhillips produces first oil from Nuna project in Alaska”?  In the article, it speaks about ConocoPhillips Alaska has hit pay dirt in its Nuna project in the Kuparuk River Unit (KRU) which is in Alaska’s North Slope.  The Nuna project drill site 3T is in the KRU and it is the company’s 49th well location in the region, nonetheless it is the first in the Greater Kuparuk region in almost 10 years.  The second largest oil field in North America includes the Greater Kuparuk Region which encompasses the KRU which is part of the northern coast of Alaska.  ConocoPhillips’ Nuna project is expecting to drill almost 30 wells in the region as well as develop on-pad infrastructure and pipelines which will tie-in to the current KRU processing.  The development of the Nuna project 3T site took around three months and will continue its development for at least another two to three years.  If we hear anything else, on ConocoPhillips Alaska and their development of its fields including their Willow Project, we will let you know.  If you would like to read more of the Oil & Gas Journal’s article, please click the link:   ConocoPhillips produces first oil from Nuna project in Alaska | Oil & Gas Journal.
