Port of Corpus Christi announced USACE has decided on a recipient of the final phase of the CIP!

At this point, you know we like to stay on top of the happenings at the Ports in our area.  It looks like the Port of Corpus Christi is in the news again!  Did you see our blog on September 8, 2023, about them naming their Interim CEO, Kent Britton to their permanent CEO?  Check out the blog, if you haven’t!

Did anyone hear that the Port of Corpus Christi made an announcement today, September 26, 2023, about who was awarded the fourth and final phase of the Corpus Christi Channel Improvement Project (CIP)?  The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced Callan Marine, Ltd. has been awarded the fourth and final phase of the CIP.  The almost $681.6 million CIP is expected to be completed by early 2025, while the third phase is expected to be completed later this year. Upon completion CIP will have been dredged to -54-feet Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW) and widened to 530-feet, and they will have dredged 40-million cubic yards of material which will be used to construct erosion control areas and places for wildlife.    If you would like to read more of Port of Corpus Christi’s Announcement, please click the link: Port of Corpus Christi Ship Channel Improvement Project Advances to Final Phase -Port of Corpus Christi (portofcc.com).
