Orange County Advanced Power Station is online and adding power MISO’s grid.

Happy Monday!  Welcome back to another week of ESC News Blog.

Did anyone happen to read The Houston Chronicle’s The 713 Afternoon Newsletter on October 16, 2026, their article titled, “Entergy Texas opens $1.6 billion power plant as customers face a new charge on their bills”?  In the article, it goes on to speak on how last Wednesday, October 14, 2026, Entergy Texas has started a new natural gas power plant in Bridge City, Orange County, Texas powering 27 Southeast Texas Counties on the Midcontinent Independent System Operator’s (MISO) grid.  Orange County Advanced Power Station is the facility’s name, and it is bringing 1.2 GW of reliable power to MISO not Electric Reliability Council of Texas’ (ERCOT) grid.   Entergy is also adding new facilities in Cleveland and Port Arthur, Texas with an expected capped cost of $2.4 billion and they are expected online in 2028.  We wish Entergy luck with completing and getting these power plants online!  If you would like to read more of the Houston Chronicle’s article on MSN, please click the link: Entergy Texas opens $1.6 billion power plant as customers face a new charge on theirbills.
