We have been blogging on Enbridge’s
Line 5 for all of the obstacles which it has been maneuvering over the years
trying to make a tunnel to protect the pipeline from vessel mishaps. Well, Enbridge’s Line 5 is in the news for
something different.
Did anyone
happen to read Storage Terminals Magazine’s Weekly Newsletter on September
28, 2026, their article titled, “Enbridge Responds to Line 5 Natural Gas
Liquids Release in Wisconsin”? In the article, it speaks on how Enbridge’s
Line 5 had a mishap back in late August in Saxon, Wisconsin at its project site
and their short-term rerouting of the pipeline is up and running. Line 5 was struck by a vacant truck which bowled
into the pipeline discharging natural gas liquids (NGLs). Work continues on the
environmental cleanup at the site. Enbridge’s
Line 5 brings hydrocarbons to ten refineries in the Midwest and Great Lakes states.
We wish Enbridge luck with Line 5.
