Another proposed LNG facility along the Louisiana Gulf Coast is moving forward.

Happy Wednesday!

We like to stay on top of the happenings around the Louisiana and Texas Gulf Coasts.  We blogged back in July 2025 of Venture Global bringing to light in a letter to FERC in which an influx of LNG projects in the region may bring difficulties in a shared channel (See our Blog July 7, 2025 for details).  We have news on another LNG facility in the region which received its U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) presidential approval back in late July 2026; see our blog for details.  Well, the project which is proposed at Louisiana’s southernmost port has moved forward.  Let’s see what they are doing.

Did anyone happen to read the Oil & Gas Journal’s LNG & Transportation Report Newsletter on September 30, 2026, their article titled, “Argent LNG awards FEED LNG plant in Port Fourchon”?   The article goes on to speak on how Argent LNG LLC awarded its front-end engineering and design (FEED) to Tecnimont USA Inc.  In addition, Tecnimont USA will help with their U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) permitting, too. Once Argent LNG has their ducks in a row they will move into the next phase for their final investment decision and construction.  Argent LNG is aiming for four years until their first exports from the facility.  We will let you know, if we hear anything else on Argent LNG’s proposed Gulf Coast facility.  If you would like to read more of the Oil & Gas Journal’s article, please click the link Argent LNG awards FEED contract for proposed LNG plant in Port Fourchon | Oil & Gas Journal.
