Venture Global’s Plaquemines LNG plant was given a little boast by DOE granting them to export more LNG.

Happy Monday! Welcome back to another week of ESC News Blog!  Hope you enjoyed your weekend and the nice weather.  Let’s get started.

We blogged on Venture Global’s non-Free Trade Agreement (non-FTA) for CP2 back in October, and they were given permission to ship up to 3.96 billion cubic feet of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).  Well, they are in the news again for their Plaquemines LNG facility in Louisiana and looks like they will be shipping more out.

Did anyone happen to read the DOE’s Hydrocarbon and Geothermal Energy Office’s News Release on March 13, 2026, their announcement for, “Energy Department Approves Immediate Additional LNG Exports from Plaquemines LNG”?  In the announcement, it goes on to speak of Venture Global and their Plaquemines LNG plant in Louisiana may ramp up production and export almost 4 billion cubic feet a day (Bcf/d) to non-Free Trade Agreement (non-FTA) and FTA countries with an updated permit issued by the Department of Energy.   Venture Global’s Plaquemines LNG Plant came online at the end of 2024, and they already had the permission to export more than 3 Bcf/d of LNG with this new authorization they may ship 3.85 Bcf/d. Well, we will keep you posted on any other news we hear coming out of the DOE.  If you would like to read more of the Announcement from the U.S. DOE, please click the link: Energy Department Approves Immediate Additional LNG Exports from Plaquemines LNG.
