CVOW has started to produce energy for Virginia’s power grid.

Happy Thursday!

Did anyone happen to read the gCaptain Daily Newsletter on March 25, 2026, their article titled, “Dominion’s $11.5B Virginia Offshore Wind Project Delivers First Power After Legal Figh, Cost Surge”?  In the article, it speaks on the current status of Dominion’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project which has had an uphill battle to create the largest offshore wind installation in the U.S.   In spite of the disruptions, CVOW has produced its first electricity which powered the local grid off Virginia with 2.6 gigawatts; started-up has begun as they continue building additional wind turbines to reach their final goal of 176- turbine facility, and they are approximately three-quarters of the way done.  CVOW is only part of Virginia’s plan to use all available energy sources to power its grid.  We wish Dominion luck completing their project.  We will let you know, if we hear anything else interesting on this matter.  If you would like to read more of the article from gCaptain’s, please click the link:   Dominion’s $11.5B Virginia Offshore Wind Project Delivers First Power After Legal Fight, Cost Surge.
