Has Venture Global Inc. brought to light a possible snag to the influx of LNG Projects along the Gulf Coast and its waterways!

Happy Monday!  Welcome back to another week of ESC News Blog!  We hope you had a little fun over the holiday weekend and had some good hotdogs, burgers, and a little apple pie! Let’s get started!

Did anyone happen to read the gCaptain Shipping Newsletter on July 7, 2025, their article titled, “Tensions Are Starting to Brew over Waterways for U.S. LNG Cargos”?  In the article, it spoke on a valid point Venture Global Inc. has made in a letter to the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on a U.S. waterway and the implications another LNG Plant’s waterway plan will have on the shared channel and its neighbors.  Venture Global’s LNG facility Calcasieu Pass is across from Commonwealth’s planned LNG facility along the same channel as Woodside’s Louisiana LNG and Energy Transfer’s Lake Charles LNG planned in another area of the same channel in Louisiana.  In addition, Venture Global has started to receive its permits on its proposed CP2 LNG facility which will also be constructed near the same channel.  Venture Global has brought to light possible problems with the ever-expanding planned LNG facilities in the area and how will the federal authorities handle the increased traffic.  In addition, Commonwealth’s plan included a request to build a turning basin and what will happen when dredging needs to be done.  How will federal authorities handle all these variables is a valid point brought up in the letter from Venture Global, and we wish federal authorities luck figuring out this puzzle!  If you would like to read more of the gCaptain’s article, please click the link:   Tensions Are Starting to Brew Over Waterways for U.S. LNG Cargoes.
