Happy Friday!
We thought you would like to hear
an update of the Texas Railroad Commission’s status on their application for
receiving authority to permit Class VI Wells in Texas; see our Blog in end of
July 2024 for additional background.
Did anyone
happen to see the Houston CCS Alliance’s Newsletter on May 12, 2025, they
had a News Release from the EPA titled,” EPA and Texas Railroad Commission sign
memorandum of agreement on geologic storage of carbon dioxide”? In the article, the story is on how Texas Railroad
Commission (RRC) and the U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have
signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) at the end of April 2025. This MOA is a step needed to be completed on
the road to being given authority to permit Class VI Wells in the state. According to the article now the EPA is
writing an authorization for the RRC’s Class VI Well application to give them
authority. If you would like to read
