Happy Tuesday!
Well, a carbon capture and
sequestration (CCS) project in the Midwest has been hitting roadblocks lately,
so when we read something regarding a project is Wyoming who is making headway,
we had to mention it.
Did anyone happen to read gasworld’s
article on May 1, 2025, their article titled, “US approves Tallgrass Energy
CO2 storage plan for Wyoming”? In the
article, it speaks on Tallgrass Energy’s proposed carbon capture and sequestration project in Laramie
County, Wyoming has jumped a hurdle by receiving an endorsement from the U.S.
Department of Interior’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) after the completion
of its environmental assessment.
Tallgrass Energy’s Eastern Wyoming Sequestration Hub project once
completed will remove approximately 5.1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide per annum
with six class VI wells. Wyoming’s Department of Environmental Quality is one of the states given authority
from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to approve its Class VI
Well Permits under the federal Underground Injection Control (UIC) program, and
they have issued a permit for Tallgrass Energy’s Class VI well according to the agency
website. We will try to keep up on the
progress this project and other CCS projects are making around the
country. If you would like to read more of
