Ascension Clean Energy Project advances by choosing McDermott for EPC!

Happy Monday!  Welcome to another week of ESC News Blog!  We hope you all had a fun holiday weekend!

Did anyone happen to read Tank Storage News America Weekly Newsletter on November 29, 2024, their article titled, “Clean Hydrogen awards McDermott FEED contract for ascension clean energy project”?   In the article, it speaks on how the Ascension Clean Energy (ACE) Project in Ascension Parish, Louisiana is being led by Clean Hydrogen Works (CHW) has moved its project forward by hiring McDermott to help with its engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC).  Clean Hydrogen Works whose investors ExxonMobil, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, and Hafnia are working together to advance clean hydrogen and ammonia supply chains.   CHW’s ACE project is expected to make 2.4 million metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) of clean ammonia by 2029 and it is expected to expand up to 7.2 MTPA, if needed.  The project is expected to use carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) innovations to capture emissions and for it to be transported by ExxonMobil to its facilities.  The initial government approvals are expected to start coming in the beginning of 2025 and final investment decision by the end of the year.  McDermott’s agreement has them working from the start of the FEED study, throughout the project by purchasing of materials, building assessment, preparation and implementation of the completed project.  We wish them luck!  If you would like to read more of Tank Storage News America Weekly Newsletter’s article, please click the link: Clean Hydrogen awards McDermott FEED contract for ascension clean energy project -Tank Storage News America.
