Happy Thursday!
Did anyone happen to read the
Oil & Gas Journal’s Daily Update on December 11, 2024, their article
titled, “Chevron begins phased startup of Texas refinery’s upgrading project”? The article is on Chevron USA Inc.’s has
finished construction of its light tight oil (LTO) expansion upgrade of its 323-acre
Pasadena refinery in Texas. Earlier
this week they began commissioning, and filling the processing unit, and it is
expected to proceed into the first part of 2025. The Pasadena LTO Project will give Chevron’s
proprietary oil a refinery to refine its oil and increase supply along the Gulf
Coast. This improvement will help the
refinery convert 15% more LTO which will increase the refinery’s output to around
125,000 barrels a day with this expansion and its ability to store 5.1 million
barrels of oil and refined products as well as exporting marine terminal beside
the Houston Ship Channel will place the company in a good position in the Gulf
Coast. The refinery’s refining flexibility
will aid it in the current climate and the U.S.’s demand of refined products. We wish them luck and a safe and speedy startup,
so they get their products to market soon! If you would like more information on this
