U.S. BLM’s Supplemental EIS for Alaska’s ANWR has been completed, and now there is a race to complete the sale by the end of 2024.

Happy Veteran’s Day!

We would like to thank all of those who served in the armed forces, who made sacrifices to keep our country safe, and to help preserve all the freedoms we cherish!  Thank You!

Welcome back to another week of ESC News Blog!  Happy Monday!

Did anyone happen to read the Oil & Gas Journal’s Daily Update on November 8, 2024, their article titled, “Biden moves to limit ANWR oil drilling after Trump’s election”?  The article is on U.S. Department of Interior’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) announced it has completed its Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Alaska’s Artic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) and has determined a smaller segment of land is eligible for the oil and gas lease sale.  The BLM determined around 400,000 acres of the Alaska’s ANWR will be available which is the bare minimum required by the Trump’s Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017 and the lease sale will have to be held by the end of this year (2024).  The Final EIS should have been published last week and 30 days after it is published the BLM should release details of the oil and gas lease sale which includes acreage details and any limitations and restrictions.   If we hear anything else on this lease sale, we will let you know!
