Happy Thursday!
Did anyone happen to read the
Oil & Gas Journal’s Energy Transition Update on November 7, 2024, they
had an article titled, “Valero confirms completion of Port Arthur SAF project”?
The article is on Diamond Green Diesel Holdings (DGD) has finished constructing their sustainable aviation
fuel (SAF) portion
of their renewable diesel plant which is expected to produce 470-million gallon
a year renewable diesel in Port Arthur, Texas. SAF uses rendered animal products (for
example: animal fats) and/or recycled materials (for example: used cooking oil)
and converts them to low-carbon fuel; the process reduces greenhouse gases by
up to 80% when measured against traditional fuels. The plant is located by Valero’s refinery in Port
Arthur, Texas. DGD is a partnership
between Valero Energy Corp. and Darling Ingredients Inc. The plant has been constructed for under $315-million
and on time. The SAF plant is expected to be in service by
the end of 2024. We wish them luck in
the commissioning of the plant! If you
