Did anyone
happen to hear the Harris County Commissioners Court appointed Dr. Tina
Peterson to the Gulf Coast Protection District’s (GCPD) Board of Directors? Dr. Peterson will be taking the place of Adrian
Garcia who has held the appointment for Harris County since the inception of
the GCPD. Dr. Peterson is a valuable
addition to the Board of Directors due to her extensive background in flood
mitigation; she is currently the Executive Director of the Harris County Flood
Control District. Dr. Peterson has
leadership positions in several flood and stormwater groups in the region, and will
bring her knowledge, skills, and her experience to the GCPD. Dr. Peterson’s will have the term expiration of
June 16, 2027. We wish her luck in her new
