Happy Tuesday! Now that the Gulf Coast area has begun cleaning up from Hurricane Beryl and crews are trying to get the power back on, we thought you would like some positive news.
Did anyone happen to read the Oil & Gas
Journal’s Daily Update Newsletter on July 8, 2024, their article titled, “Hurricane
Beryl has minimal impact on US Gulf oil, gas operations”? The article was on the US Gulf Coast oil and
gas industry and what they did to prepare for Hurricane Beryl and some updates
on how they weathered the storm! Marathon
Galveston Bay Refinery prepared for the storm and had minimal power trouble
which caused some flaring. Phillips 66
prepared the areas operations for the hurricane, so had no real impacts as of
this story. ExxonMobil prepared for the storm and made changes to its
operations to ensure no real productions disruptions. Chevron stated production
in the area was at typical levels, nonetheless they made adjustments to personnel
on their offshore facilities. As for other
offshore companies like Shell and ExxonMobil they made adjustments to the personnel
and prepared for the incoming hurricane.
Port Houston was closed Monday and
today, but is expected to resume operations Wednesday, July 10, 2024, see their
website for details. It is good news the
Gulf Coast oil and gas industry fended so well through Hurricane Beryl with
good preparation, evacuating unnecessary personnel, and making adjustments to
their operations should help prices and production capacity stay stable or have
only slight effects. If you would like
